7 Amazing Benefits of Exercises beyond Weight Loss. Get Motivated!
In my last post I wrote about the importance of exercise in weight loss and also the amount of exercise one needs to do in order to lose weight. Do remember, Diet and Exercise, both have their own role to play in your weight loss process. None can replace the other.
“Get Fit in the Gym, Lose Weight in the Kitchen”
Besides assisting in weight loss, benefits of exercise are numerous:
Exercises reduce Stress:
Once you are done with stressing over doing exercises, and start with actually doing them, exercises can really be a great stress buster. 😃😀
To me exercise is like meditation. If I have had a rough day at work or after a fight with my husband or if something is bothering me, doing yoga or even brisk walking helps me destress myself and reduce my anxiety. It calms me down and helps me clear my mind.
Exercises make you more Energetic:
When you are tired, the last thing on your mind is to exercise, but that is exactly what you should do. I know this sounds stupid, but do try it. Then only you would know what I mean. Light exercises can help you lessen the feeling of dullness & tiredness and make you more alert & productive.
Exercises build Stamina
I remember when I started exercising, I used to easily get exhausted on a treadmill within 15 minutes. The last five minutes were a torture! By the time 20 minutes were over, I used to be breathless and panted. Now I can easily spend 30 minutes on the treadmill and more too if I do desire. Slowly but steadily my stamina increased. 😎💪🏻
Exercises reduce the risk of many Health Conditions and Diseases
Exercise lowers blood pressure, prevents diabetes, improves cholesterol, reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, cancers, etc. 😱
It is an irony that people are willing to spend dollars in buying medicines like weight loss pills or BP pills, cholesterol pills, etc., but they don’t want to spend just a few minutes of the day doing exercises, which is actually free.
Exercises improve Strength & Flexibility
Strength training typically includes lifting weights, doing yoga or other types of workouts. Incorporating strength training into your routine helps you build muscles and bone intensity, and therefore delays the aging process. 😄
The more the muscles, the more calories the body will burn and you can get the workout benefits long after actually doing it. All the stretching exercises that are an inclusive part of all the workouts, increase the body flexibility and improve blood circulation
Exercise promotes Better Sleep and Relaxation
Having trouble sleeping or have insomnia? Try exercising. One of the systems that regulate the sleep is a circadian biological clock, also known as sleep/ wake cycle. Exercises raise your body temperature, and when it drops it triggers sleep, thus strengthening your circadian biological clock. 😴
Exercise improves Mood
Have you ever noticed how you feel after doing any kind of exercise? Cycling, swimming, yoga, cardio or any other form of workout? Without a doubt, you feel great. Exercises release hormones that create a feeling of happiness and take away the sense of depression. Exercises act as brilliant anti-depressants, and these are free. 🙃
The list carrying the benefits of exercise is unlimited, and I have just written about a few. Many other benefits include sharpening of memory, controlling addiction, boosting self-esteem and confidence, improving creativity & productivity, and so on.
Therefore, exercises should be done not only by the ones who are looking to lose weight, but exercises should be done by all those who want to lead a healthy lifestyle.
7 Amazing benefits of Exercises Listed to motivate you to start exercising today. Share on XThe thought I want to leave you with 🤔🤔
Exercises of any kind are helpful. Of course, more intense the exercise, the more calories burnt and more the benefit.
We all already know this… Right? But what is interesting is that you don’t have to spend hours in the gym to reap the benefits of exercises. Only 150 minutes a week.
Break this down into smaller activities: 30 minutes for 5 days or 50 minutes for 3 days. A small start by doing something is better than doing nothing at all. You can gradually increase to reach the desired level.
Does this sound doable? So no need to be lazy anymore.
XOXO
PS There is just one little thing, if you have any health conditions, please consult your doctor before starting any type of rigorous or strenuous exercises.

Thank you so much CJ for such an informative article and inspiring me to exercise even more. I am a firm believer of the fact that exercise should be an integral part of every individual’s daily routine. You just can’t ignore it- it’s inevitable if you wish to stay fit.
And yes, one doesn’t really need to do that heavy lifting, go to gym or buy expensive equipments for exercising. Even some easy Yoga asanas and a bit of jogging can do wonders.
A little effort today can help us lead a better life tomorrow.
Keep sharing such great articles and keep inspiring us CJ!
