How much Exercise do you REALLY need to do for Losing Weight?
“So if I start ‘Eating Right’, will I still be required to do exercises to lose weight?” I got this message on my MusingsbyCJ Facebook Page Messenger a few days back.
From the beginning, I have been emphasizing on Eating Right. Not even once have I mentioned anything about Exercising, so I am sure many of you might be having this question in your mind. 🤔🤔
Why haven’t I written anything about exercising until now?
Don’t get me wrong, if I have not spoken about exercises earlier. I wanted you to focus on one vertical of weight loss first – i.e YOUR DIET. I have even created an Actionable Weight Loss Guide for you to understand the basis of eating rightly and successfully starting your weight loss journey. It is a brilliant guide and available for FREE DOWNLOAD.
As I have mentioned earlier, “Weight Loss is 80% Diet & 20% Exercise”. The Diet Part I have covered at length & I will continue to write more about it in future as well. But today I will take up the other vertical of weight loss – Exercising for Weight Loss. ANY weight loss program or course that makes promises to get you to lose weight without exercise is futile. DON’T BELIEVE THOSE PROGRAMS.
It is really essential to include Exercise in your daily routine, whether or not you are looking at losing weight. Exercises are also important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Why is it so?
Eating less than usual food surely results in Weight Loss, but besides losing fat weight, it also results in loss of your muscles and bone density.
Exercises build our muscles and bone density, delays aging and helps in maintaining our fitness levels. Muscles take up lesser space than fat in our body and so our body looks slimmer, better toned and fitter.
What kind of Exercises should you do for Reducing Weight?
When we talk about Exercises in relation to weight loss, the first thought that comes to our mind is that we would have to spend 2-3 hours in the gym every day. YES! That is how difficult We think it is to lose weight and precisely this is the reason we are scared of finding solutions for our weight issues.
But what if I tell you that exercising for losing weight is NOT SO HARD and you don’t need to spend 2-3 hours a day gymming!
To lose weight effectively, you need to just exercise for 150 minutes a week, which is about 30 minutes/ 5 days a week. You can decide your preferred days to exercise – all weekdays, alternate days… just do what suits you.
For starters, change your lifestyle from being stagnant to being more physically active. Thereafter, start with any kind of exercise of your choice – yoga, treadmill, weights, jogging, swimming, brisk walking, cardio or any other exercise of your choice.
It is amazing how I need to do only 30 min of exercise per day to lose weight! Share on XIt is advised to keep changing your exercises so that your body does not get used to the routine.
IMPORTANT: Of course this is over and above eating right, and YOU CANNOT IGNORE your diet and need to start eating right.
